Technical Difficulties

Due to technical difficulties, there has been some confusion about the last couple blog posts, so the one entitled Great, Great,Great, might look weird, depending on what browser you are using. For example, if you are using Mozilla firefox then it will not look weird, but if you are using internet explorer than it will. Sorry about that, our blog will soon return to normal. Enjoy the posts!

Great, Great, Great...

I'm not sure how many greats she is, but I am a direct descendant of her on my
mothers side. She was a Quaker missionary to Indians in Oregon .It might not seem so odd to you, but its hard for me to believe that without her would be no me!
I have more photos of my ancestors if anyone is interested, I'm hoping to get some lined up right next to each other, in order of birth. For now, I will leave you with this.
In the Lord,

A Few Thoughts And A Fun Little Quiz

I was reading a post on a blog that I found. Here is something that she put on her blog that helped me in something I have been thinking a lot about lately:

"Maturity starts with the willingness to give oneself.

Childishness is characterized by self-centeredness.

It is only the emotionally and spiritually mature who are

able to lay down their wants for others, those who are, "masters

themselves that they might be the servants of others."

I just thought this was a really good quote that we all should remember,
(especially me). We all tell ourselves that we have overcome that, have grown
past the want of attention and self-centeredness, but most of us have only overcome the childish selfishness of sharing possessions and little things like that, but think about the big things, like trying to gain more attention from your friends, and hurting others feelings so that you can get a situation in your advantage, if you understand what I am saying here. Just a little something to occupy your thoughts here.

Here is a little trivia just so you won't get bored with this blog. Write your answers in comment form and later I will post the answers.

True or false? The Orca is in the whale family.

Are agates always transparent?

True or false? The Octopus is going extinct.

A sea anemone is...

A.Soft and squishy.

B. Hard and appears prickly.

True or false? Skates are just another name for a stingray.

Are starfish soft and pliable or hard and brittle?

Please tell me if this is too hard. Before I leave, I have a couple of questions to
ask all of you. Should I post stories I wrote/write on here?
I've been thinking about when I have a spare afternoon I should throw together some stuff and and make an at home 'I Spy' scene, take a picture and put it on here for you to find things, mabye a series of 'I Spy' photos. Would anyone want to see that at all?

Oceanic Pics

Jillian put a few things already, but here is a little bit from my viewfinder. After a 13 1/2 hour drive we saw the western coast of our land. Hours, no weeks of anticipation built up to the moment we looked out the windows and took in the vastness of that great body of water. God is a really awesome Creator, and seeing His great things makes you wish to praise that marvelous greatness.
We had a wonderful vacation to Oregon, beautiful sunny days, nights of ocean mist, activity balanced with relaxation. It was great to see extended family, and we could not get enough of horseback riding or walking the beach. No bikinis in sight thank goodness, but lots of fresh sea and of course an inevitable collection of seashells. At grandma's there was always plenty of goodies, soda, chips, movies. What are grandparents for? It was enjoyable and I wish we could have stayed longer.

Okay, the funny thing about Wii was Grandpa teaching Hayley to use it. The reverse of all modern stereotypes.

We visited a marine science center, where our biologist Jillian could have spent hours.

I have been waiting for months to walk on the beach with Pacific Ocean swirling around my ankles.

Jillian enjoyed it too.

Seal Rock, Oregon, U. S. A. It was worth all the waiting.

At the Tidepools

Since there are so many numerous pictures of us in Oregon, I figured the least boring of these is our first morning there, Sunday morning. While you were all in church we were exploring the tide pools at low tide, a five minute drive from where my grand parents live. It was really neat to see all the various things that live there, and be able to be up close and touch them. So with out further ado, here they are:

Heading down to the tide pools, it was a lovely walk.

below is some of the various sea life that we saw their:

Facing the sea breeze :)

I will leave you with star fish and a promise that more posts will be coming soon, maybe even later today. Maybe. I want to show y'all the cute little seaside shops that we saw!
