A Sunset and a Crib

It is so nice to be living above ground to see the sunset. I think the strangest transition in being married was moving from a birdhouse to a burrow. I think I now live in a happy medium, out of the basement and not on the second floor. It is wonderful to see things like rain, green grass, and lots of mountain bluebirds, among other birds. Binoculars will be great to get, after we get everything for the baby.

Roman has worked very hard on the crib for our baby. He has put together all the sides, and the next step will be to make the legs and bottom for the crib. It has been a couple weeks since I have seen it, otherwise I would have more pictures, but I'll get them soon enough. This beautiful crib will be a wonderful heirloom piece for our family. We hope it will be able to hold lots of babies. We thank the Lord for all that He is giving to us as we prepare to raise the child He will entrust us with. What a marvelous thing it is!

Rainy Day Blessings

It is raining, has been all day and it is still a lovely day, because the Lord has made it.
When it rains I enjoy playing the piano, moody, romantic pieces, orderly, classical ones, and the inspirational hymns.
It is perfect weather for tea by the potful.
And pumpkin muffins as a little treat.

The bit of sunshine in my day comes from this sunny bouquet from my good friend Roman.
He brought them into work for me the other day. I am enjoying courting him and thank the Lord for this added blessing to brighten the gray days.

Bare feet, Greenery...

I don't like shoes. Don't take that wrong. I love shoes.
Your probably confused. I like the look of shoes, there
are several nice pairs out there. I just Love bare feet.
Something is so very enjoyable about walking in the
grass with bare feet. It feels just... delicious. Yesterday, I ran outside
for the first time in a long time barefoot. Mmph.

I want to walk in that field and enjoy dewy delightfulness.
And feel the sun in my face as it rises:

I think I might start drooling soon...
Have a blessed week remembering the Resurrection,
Christ dying on the cross, and the Sacrifice God
made for us.
What a wonderful gift of love!

Bonjour

Good Morning to you all! I hope I was not the only one up with the sun this morning. Actually before the sun, since he comes much later. I took some pics of the sunrise this morning only catching the tail end of the colors. I always enjoy watching the color-filled sky in the early morning. Sunsets as well. I cannot decide which I enjoy more.

He who binds to himself a joy
Doth the winged life destroy.
He who kisses the joy as it flies,
Lives in eternity's sunrise.

~William Blake~

If I take the wings of the dawn, if I dwell in the remotest part of the sea, even there Thy hand will lead me, and Thy right hand will lay hold of me.
~Psalm 139:9,10~

May radiant joy shine thru your life.
May fruitful bounty grow.
May you feel the pleasure of Gods' smile
When you sit before His throne.

When your patience seems exhausted
May you still go on your way.
When your world falls down about you
Make faith in Christ your stay.

In your service for His Kingdom
May you be full of cheer and love.
Work with others all around you
Toward the kingdom that's above.

~Caitlin Carstensen~

O Lord, our Lord, how majestic it Thy name in all the earth.
~Psalm 8:9~

Beauty of Creation

Today we walked along the Swan River Trail, right along the lovely river. The temperature was lovely and everything green and fresh from the rain of last night. God has made so many beautiful things in this world, not the least of which are my sisters, who I think very beautiful. I love you Laurel, Jillian, and Hayley

The dam in the background creates a lovely waterfall.

Lost in her own thoughts.

Taking in the scene.

My mother and aunt soaking in the sunshine.

I love our gate and path.

These are pictures of the storm clouds from last night, the blue is so rich and deep. We saw lots of sheet lightning and heard rolling thunder. It is fascinating to watch.

Spring: Day 2

"Let us now fear the Lord our God, who gives rain in its season, both the autumn rain and the spring rain." Jeremiah 5:24

"For behold, the winter is past, the [snow] is over and gone. The flowers have appeared in the land; The time has arrived for the pruning of vines...the vines in blossom have given forth their fragrance." Song of Solomon 2:12,13
Since the calendar has announced spring yesterday, those of us who have anxiously awaited it's arrival can now rejoice! It is nearly 60 degrees outside. Birds declare their Maker's praise and the time to sow has arrived. God has safely provided for us through the winter months and now we can take joy in the arrival of the new season. Thanks be to Him who allows us more time here to worship Him.

I have taken a few pictures to show some of the transition between seasons.

February...

...today, March 21st.

I decided it was time to start using the clothesline again.

One of the sayings I have heard about Montana is:
"The only place you can slip on the ice, fall in the mud, then get up and dust yourself off."
This picture should support that notion.

I hope everyone is enjoying the new season and all the other wonderful mercies of God that He demonstrates new each and every day.

There's An Epidemic

As I have gone around on different peoples blogs I have found there is a fever going around at an alarming rate. I myself am not immune to this fever and have a mildly severe case. Common symptoms are:

  • Longings for color expressed by bright blog backgrounds, bedroom makeovers, and wishful spring clothing searching

  • Regular mentions of garden plans, green leaves, or flowers

  • Hiking and camping plans are in the works despite the snow and ice so obviously outside

  • Drooling over luscious pictures of gardens far away in magazines from last year

  • Occasional bouts of clean out and clear out urges, such as usually accompany warmer weather

These may be just a few, but some or all are present in my family. My garden plans are quite extravagant in this season where anything is possible, because you do not actually have to do the work. I do not usually get spring fever until March, but all the gray, foggy days are making warmer weather very appealing.

How bad would each of you rate your case?

  1. non-existent; clean bill of health, snow forever!

  2. mild; like the idea of warm weather, but still reveling in snowy sports

  3. mildly severe; ready to cast aside the winter layers for spring fashions

  4. severe; desperate to make it feel like spring inside if not out

  5. near death; ready to move to Florida for the remaining 36 days of winter!

So share with me your symptoms, remedies, and dreams for the coming spring. If you're anything like me, you don't really want a remedy!
